Practical Feng Shui

Wisdom for daily life, curated by Master Andrew Chan in Hong Kong.

Home

Front door should not face the toilet

Energy enters through the front door; a directly visible toilet leaks wealth and harms health. Add a screen or keep the toilet door closed.

Home

Three taboos for the bed

Avoid headboard against a window (no support), bed facing a mirror (startle spirits), and a beam pressing overhead.

Office

Solid wall behind your seat

A wall behind the chair represents reliable backers. A window or walkway behind invites gossip and reversals — hang a mountain landscape if needed.

Office

Cashier and safe placement

Place at the annual wealth star, not directly opposite the entrance. A few crystals or gold ingots inside enhance the effect.

Wealth

Aquarium positioning

Place at the era's wealth sector. Auspicious fish counts: 1, 4, 6, 8, 9. Avoid bedrooms, kitchens or directly opposite altars. Not for those whose chart dislikes Water.

Remedies

Sharp-corner sha and remedies

Outside corners, eaves and road thrusts are sha-qi (negative energy) — risk of accidents. Use a convex mirror or a Qilin-on-Bagua plaque, or arrange an on-site audit.

Plants

Wealth-attracting indoor plants

Money plant, Pachira, lucky bamboo and Clivia attract wealth. Choose round, lush leaves. Cacti are unsuitable for living rooms or bedrooms.

Annual

Tai Sui appeasement and yearly stars

Those clashing with the annual Tai Sui should appease at a temple early in the year. Avoid construction at the 5-Yellow and 2-Black sectors; avoid red items at the 3-Jade sector.

Feng Shui is highly individual. Tips above are general guidance — book an on-site audit for tailored remedies.
